From the Andes to the Pacific. Once across the Provence. Traversing the Savoy mountains. Maxi Dickerhoff loves multi-day Enduro races. This year, another one of his dreams came true: the TransNZ. Known as a former roving reporter, Maxi loved experiencing pain, torture and success for himself. The former racer recently quit journalism and is now focusing on his new duties at the German MTB manufacturer GHOST-Bikes for which he competes in what is probably the most beautiful race of the world – the TransNZ.

Andalucia Bike Race Day Six – Final stage sees victors crowned
After 5 intense days of racing it came down to the final 70km of racing to decide the victors. The threat of rain was looming large, with dark clouds on the horizon racers were warned to take extra precautions and carry a spare layer of clothing. Hynek and Lakata entered the day with a forty second buffer but this proved futile as Ferreira and Ilias dominated the stage to snatch back the overall lead they held earlier in the week, in behind them followed Hynek / Lakata and Rodriquez / Valero. In the women Katrin Leumann and Sally Bigham completed a clean sweep to take six from six stage wins and comfortably wrap up the overall.
Andalucia Bike Race Day Five
The penultimate day of the 2016 Andalucia Bike Race seen the increasingly tired riders tested once again with 82 kilometers of varying terrains, conditions and over 2000 meters of climbing. It was a Swedish surprise in the form of Scott pairing Gustav Larsson and Karl Friberg who rode amazingly to clinch the 5th stage in a time of 3:33:48. Twenty-one seconds behind them it was Ferreira / Ilias who took some time back on leaders Hynek / Lakata, but the Topeak pairing remain at the top of the overall classification going into the final stage. It was a familiar tale in the women as Bigham and Leumann eased to a 5th straight stage win and remain unbeaten on the trails of Andalucia, they were followed home by MMR’s Santanyes / Noriega. Tomorrow a final 70 kilometers will see the victors of the 2016 running of the Andalucia bike race crowned. Stay tuned.
