Factory Visit | Nicolai Bikes Head Quarters in the Harz Mountains
I had the Nicolai Ion 16 for about 48 hours before I rode it. Mostly I just looked at it. Every time I walked into my bike room and saw the stealthy, murdered-out, flat-black bike, I noticed another little detail. The bike looks simple at first but closer inspection reveals care, creativity, artistry, design and engineering. I’m not talking about “bling” but rather like “easter-eggs” hidden in video games and computer programs that you only discover by pressing the secret button sequence. You find the details in the bike if you just stare at it for a while.
Hello America | Part #10 – Making Friends in High Places
On two continents, 6,600 kilometers away from their home countries – we found two guys who literally swapped their lives: one in America, the other in Germany. How does biking feel in each of their new worlds? Who finds the best trails? Who drinks the best beer? Hear their stories and follow their adventures as they hit the trails in their new worlds.
Local Heroes | Trails near the City of Mumbai, India
I’m 28 years old and grew up in Mumbai. Besides singing and playing in a rock band called Modern Mafia, I own an urban extreme sports company and freelance as a part-time superhero. I’ve been riding bikes since I could walk, for a while I rode motocross and raced touring cars but I kept coming back to MTB every single time. There’s something about not being dependent on the the amount of gas in the tank or an engine that got me hooked on the sport.
Special | Lonesome Rider – a Weekend Offline
Legs littered with mosquito bites, a sore back, and a crust of sweat on his brow. He might be exhausted, but he’s certain of one thing: today was the best ride that he has done in ages. And that was mainly because he’d been riding on his own all day, basking in solitude.
Adventure | Our Sunrise-Tour in the Allgäu Alps
It’s 1.45 am, pitch black and suitably cold. You’re rising in the dark, fumbling for your kit and furiously trying to warm up before you have to climb a 1,700 metre mountain on your bike. Can you imagine trying to do this purely to witness the sunrise? Not everyone’s cup of tea, you could say, but certainly the one that tastes best to us, and held a certain appeal to Camilla and teammate Jannik from PROPAIN Factory Racing Team who did just this.
