A few years back, mountain biking for Max was only about biking. Spending as much time as possible on my bike. Preferably on narrow trails and paths. Over little jumps and down steep descents. It just didn’t matter what was next to these trails. Forests, fields, railways, roads or houses. With sight set a few meters ahead of the bike, it was all about the moment on the bike. Flow, fun, joy!

Now Hans Rey, Tom Oehler and Stefan Voitl traveled to Guatelmala to explore unique trails in the highlands and to meet kids that have been supported by Hans’ project.

After riding a section of the Continental Divide Trail with my good buddy, I had this idea that maybe we could do a 14er? I remember just weeks before seeing the King of 14ers, Justin Reiter summiting all 15 bike “legal” peaks. How rad, seriously? Why couldn’t I do that? I’m no XC rider but I know how to get lost!
