Preview Group Test: Which is the best Enduro Tire?
We have already tested six light trail tires in the last issue of ENDURO, now follows a test of six robust enduro tires in the next issue. These tires sill offer very good all round properties, but due to a softer rubber compound, and a robust carcass, also offer more grip and higher puncture resistance in the downhill.
Team Tested: Lezyne Classic Dirt Floor Drive High Volume Pump
Lezyne makes the Classic Dirt Floor Drive pump in a “high volume” style to inflate mountain bike tires previously needing an air compressor.
The Lezyne Classic Dirt Floor Drive could be the pump you’re looking for to replace the air compressor you keep around just for inflating bike tires. The pump is made with high quality, replaceable components. That’s an important thing. Being able to replace parts, instead of an entire pump, is crucial.
It works great. Because it creates a bigger volume of air than other pumps, I’ve been able to seat 100% of my tubeless tires with this pump. Some required more effort than others, but the point is, all of the tires I’ve attempted to put on, it’s worked. And it also requires only about half of the strokes to inflate tires. A big deal if you’re doing multiple tires in a short time span.
Preview Group Test: 6 fast XC Trail Bikes
Full speed ahead! Pedal up to the start of the trail at high-speed, and then hammer down the downhill. That was the motto of our latest group test, featuring six fast XC bikes, which will be published in issue #012 of ENDURO. The bikes had to prove their skills on the many trails around Landau / Germany. It quickly became clear that with these bikes, despite only around 100mm of travel, far more will be possible than you might think at first glance.
First Ride: The new 2015 Vitus Sommet VR Review
After seeing the development processbehind the new Vitus Sommet, I was keen to see how the bike handled itself on the trail. I had looked over suspension curves, been shown the data and heard how all the pivot locations should influence the bikes personality, but would the numbers add up? The Sommet certainly has a lot in its favour on paper, but would it deliver on the muddy steep trails of...
