Abu Dhabi is ready for the “UCI peloton”, a lot of stars will fight for The Castelli leader jerseys

Almost two weeks to the start of the Abu Dhabi Tour and we are so excited to see the Classification Leaders wearing the new Castelli  jerseys. The list of teams at the next Abu Dhabi Tour is impressive: 16 of 18 UCI WorldTeams accepted the invitation from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council The world’s top riders should be ready for the race, including Nairo Quintana, Vincenzo Nibali, Fabio Aru, Steven Kruijswijk, Tejay van Garderen and Romain Bardet as General Classification (GC) contenders. Many of the world’s best sprinters will compete too, with names such as Mark Cavendish, Marcel Kittel, Elia Viviani, André Greipel and Caleb Ewan fighting for stage victories. THE ROUTE Stage 01 – MADINAT ZAYED STAGE / MADINAT ZAYED – MADINAT ZAYED (188km) The first stage runs entirely in the desert, with the first and last parts of about 45km on straight, wide roads. The last kms are on wide, straight boulevards, punctuated by wide-curved roundabouts. The final km is straight on asphalt. Just one of them is his role in Chpt.///, the cycle clothing brand whose designs he conceived with VC Rocacorba club-mate Richard Pearce and realised with the production might of his former sponsor Castelli. It’s easy to see why Millar is in demand. Intelligent, loquacious, and a survivor of 18 years at the top tier of professional cycling, with all the good and bad that might bring. He’d fit neatly in to boxes marked ‘elder statesman’ or ‘spokesman’, were it not for the fact that Millar defies compartmentalisation. Professional cyclists, retired or otherwise, are rarely straightforward characters. And this explains the name: Chapter III. Christian Knees: Super- Domestique and Unsung Hero

With 13 grand tours under his belt, Christian Knees is one of Team Sky’s strongest domestiques. His tireless work has contributed to 14 race victories, including, most notably, the yellow jersey won by Brad Wiggins in the 2012 Tour de France, Christian’s seventh consecutive Tour. His personal palmarès includes victory in the German national road race championship in 2010 before joining Team Sky. When Christian was a young cyclist watching pro races on television, he was intrigued by the sacrifice of the domestiques and their selfless devotion to their team leader. They’d give up wheels when key riders punctured, collect food and bottles from the team car for teammates, chase down early attacks and keep breakaways in check, ensure that the riders they were looking after were well positioned heading into key sections of races, and provide shelter for them to make sure they conserved their energy for as long as possible.
