Castelli equipped Alex Zanardi won his second gold medal today at the London 2012 Paralympics. On top of his individual time trial H4 handcycling victory, the 45 year old also won the road race H4 event: 8 laps around a circuit for a total length of 64 km. Zanardi crossed the finish line after 2 hours and 32 seconds, followed by South Africa’s Ernst van Dyk (silver medal) and Belgium’s Wim Decleir (bronze). Another cycling event, the individual H2 race, also saw another Castelli equipped athlete reaching the podium for the second time in two days with Vittorio Podesta’ coming third (1:38.02) only seven behind the winner Walter Ablinger from Austria.
