Garmin-Cervélo teams prepared for a windy Tour of Qatar
The Castelli equipped Garmin-Cervélo teams have announced its rider roster for the Ladies and Mens Tour of Qatar, which begins in the Gulf peninsular this coming Wednesday and Sunday.
The women’s team, which was the world’s number one in 2010, will go to Qatar with star sprinter Lizzy Armistead, Alexis Rhode, Cantele, Lucy Martin, Iris Slappendel and Trine Schmid focused on the usual bunch sprints.
This year the women’s race, starting on Feb 2nd, is again three stages, all around 100km long. The race is organised by ASO so there is lots of useful information on their website.
The Men’s roster features Tyler Farrar, winner of multiple Grand Tour stages at the Giro and the Vuelta, brothers Cameron and Travis Meyer, World Points, Team Pursuit and Madison Champion and current Australian national road race champion, respectively and Jack Bobridge, Adelaide local and former U23 World Time Trial Champion.
The men’s race starting on Sunday Feb. 6th with a prologue and then five stages before arriving at Doha Corniche on Feb 11th with total of 712km. For more information: click here >>
