Self-proclaimed “Marketing Dude” Dan Dacko takes us through SR Suntour’s front suspension offerings for 2015.
Introduced in 2014, the Auron is SR Suntour’s all-mountain/enduro fork. The 34mm platform fork weighs in at 1940g, retails for $700, and features a hollow crown, sealed damper, and SR Suntour’s patented Q-LOC through axle quick release system.
New for 2015, the Aion is the little brother to the Auron. Retailing at $550 and featuring many of the performance benefits found in the Auron, the Aion utilizes the same 34mm platform, air spring and internals, but is comprised of slightly heavier materials.
The Durolux is a 35mm stanchion all-mountain fork, available for 26” wheels and featuring a 20mm Q-LOC thru axle. Retailing at $700, the Durolux features high and low speed compression, rebound adjust, adjustable air volume, and a new-for-2015 forged hollow crown.
The Suntour Rux is a 38mm platform, 200mm, dual crown, air fork designed for the rigors of downhill. Weighing in at 2900g, this fork is available for 26” wheel sized bikes. The axle has been updated for 2015 and is now available as a tooled version with a 6mm nut or in a tool-free version that utilizes a QR system and bayonet to close. MSRP $1175-1200 USD.
The 2015 EpiXon line includes the EpiXon XC, and the longer-travel EpiXon TR. Both forks are 32mm stanchion and feature sealed dampers, Q-LOC, low and high-speed compression, hollow crowns and adjustable air volume.
Both forks are available for 26, 27.5 and 29” wheel sizes. The EpiXon XC travel options run from 80mm-120mm of travel, while the TR ranges from 130mm-150mm. MSRP from $380-525 USD.
A purpose-built XC race fork, the Axon features adjustable air volume, a coil negative spring and hollow crowns. 26, 27.5 and 29” wheel sizes are available. For 2015 a full carbon option has been added to the magnesium and magnesium/carbon builds already in the line, with the magnesium version weighing in just under 1700g, while the full carbon has a proclaimed weight of 1586.
