Ritchey Kite WCS dropper post now available

Ritchey Kite WCS Dropper Post

First teased at last fall’s Eurobike tradeshow, the Ritchey dropper post is finally here. The air sprung Kite WCS comes in two travel lengths (125mm, 90mm), has three position stops (0mm, 35mm, 125mm), and is claimed to weigh less than 500g (including remote and housing). Price is $350.

“Designed from the ground up by Tom himself, the idea was to create a post that is robust enough to put up with plenty of abuse yet easily serviceable,” explained the Ritchey PR material. “We’re able to disassemble it in 5 minutes with cir-clip pliers, a 5mm Allen key and 7mm end wrench. Reassembly takes about 7 minutes.”

The Ritchey post comes in 30.9 or 31.6 diameters, has stealth cable routing, and is compatible with a variety of brake lever and bar mount configurations, including Shimano I-SPEC I / II & SRAM Matchmaker. It also has a new two-bolt Trail post clamp offers easy adjustment and will not slip.

And if you’re wondering why the fixed drop points rather than the more common infinite adjustment, Ritchey claims it simplifies the mechanism and lowers weight, while also increasing reliability and durability.
