Orbea Oiz, ready for all the mountains can offer.

Orbea Oiz, ready for all the mountains can offer.

Orbea is familiar with the demands of cross country racing and how tracks have evolved. Riders are facing more technical features and steeper lung busting climbs that demand the evolution of cross country bikes and design. Orbea’s go-to race machine the Oiz has two world championships under its belt and doesn’t plan on stopping there. With the release of the new updated Oiz, Orbea is ready for the evolution of Olympic cross country and beyond.

So what makes the Oiz unique?

Updated Frame design

Orbea uses prepreg carbon sheets, laser cut to minimize excess materials and overlap, and hours of premolding ensure optimal compaction with the smallest amount of carbon. Engineering a frame that uses as much carbon as possible of course saves weight but it also contributes to the sophistication and refinement of the new Oiz.

World Cup geometry and options for all sizes

Refinements of Oiz’s World Cup Geometry were born from years of designing world-class XC bikes. Orbea designed the position to be aggressive, comfortable and fast. Handling is aimed a precise steering and intuitive movement for maximum agility without instability.

Orbea’s Big Wheels Concept (BWC)

Instead of trying to squeeze everybody on a single wheel size, Orbea is offering larger wheels that are scaled to fit riders of any height. BWC offers five frames in two wheel sizes – Small with 27.5” wheels, Small, Medium, Large and XL frames with 29” wheels. Every rider experiences a quick XC ride quality in a svelte, fun and fast bike regardless of frame size or wheel size.

The Oiz M10 retails for $5000 and is a great option for xc and marathon racers.

The Inside Line

The proprietary rear shock lockout is completely invisible, and very clean in appearance- hiding from mud and staying out of your way as you grab a water bottle.

Two-Stroke: Choose your weapon: 100mm or 120mm

Two stroke lengths offered in the same overall shock length, Oiz is available in two configurations – a 100mm travel World Cup design and a 120mm (TR) trail design. The TR version uses a 120mm fork and makes a few changes to bigger tires and a slightly tougher spec.

The Oiz M10 TR retails for $5400, arriving with a 120mm shock and dialed for the trails both up and down.

Two Bottles

If you’ve ridden a full suspension bike in the past, you know how cool this is. The MD, LG and XL frames are all equipped with two bottle mounts inside the front triangle. The additional room made available by the Inside Line cable routing puts extra water at your fingertips instead of in your pocket or on your back.

The Orbea Oiz is available in many different combinations and price points:
● M-LTD $8300
● TEAM: $8000
● TR: $8000
● M10: $5000
● M30: $4000
● M50 3500
