New bits from OneUp keep your older bike running smooth with the latest tech.

If you bought a bike within the past five years, chances are you’re enjoying the benefits of bigger wheels, a 1x drivetrain, and smaller upgrades like direct mount chainrings. The rest of us are still waiting for prices to drop or technology to trickle down. Rather than leave this group of bikes behind, OneUp has just launched two new components.

Have older 104BCD cranks and still want the benefits of a narrow/wide oval chainring? OneUp’s new 30T might be for you.

30t Oval 104BCD

OneUp already offers a number of oval options for direct mount and newer BCD cranks, so their latest is a 30t for 104BCD cranksets. They already offer a 32 and 34t option. If you’re unfamiliar with oval chainrings, the idea is simple. By making the chainring elliptical, you can maximize power during the certain parts of your pedal stroke. They feel a little funky for the first 10 minutes, but after that, most riders don’t notice the difference.

OneUp’s kit includes self-centering washers that don’t require a counterbore for alignment. This is critical because only a small quantity of 10 speed cranks have this counterbore. Retail is $52.

BB/ISCG03 Guide

OneUp’s other new product is a BB/ISCG03 Guide. If you’re running an older frame that doesn’t have the new ISCG05 bolt pattern, this nifty little guide might be for you. For bikes lacking any ISCG mounts, this guide will replace one of the 2.5mm BB spacers on a threaded BSA bottom bracket. If your mountain bike has a pressfit bottom bracket and lacks ISCG tabs, we recommend throwing it away before the creaking drives you insane.
