Last chance to support trails and win an Ibis

Trail

MBOSC has the experience to build fun and sustainable trails efficiently.

Today is your last chance to donate $5 to support trails in Santa Cruz County for the opportunity to win an Ibis! One lucky donor will ride away with a new $9,500 Ibis bicycle in the Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz (MBOSC) “Ante Up for Trails” campaign. Donors receive one entry for every $5 donated to the MBOSC, but you only have until tonight to enter! The campaign closes Tuesday, May 29, at 11:59pm PDT. The winner then gets to pick the production Ibis bicycle of their choice as the prize. Donations can be made here.

This campaign has been a huge success, and you can help drive it past the finish line. MBOSC and Ibis already exceeded the original fundraising goal of $70,000, and now they’re aiming for a stretch goal of $80,000. Imagine what that could do for trails in Santa Cruz County! You can help reach this goal by making a donation to MBOSC for the chance to win an Ibis! As of 10:30am this morning they were at $76,000, so they just need another $4,000 to meet their stretch goal. Let’s make it happen!

Getting folks out in the hills is a noble cause.

While this campaign has been live, the MBOSC team has been busy constructing a brand new trail in Scotts Valley, and by the time the winner receives their new Ibis, this trail will be ready to ride. The new trail is located in the beautiful Glenwood Open Space Preserve in Scotts Valley, and it will provide local schools and the community a new resource for recreation and connection with the environment. Not to mention, it will be an awesome lunch ride opportunity for the employees of Scotts Valley based bike industry brands Fox, Bell, Giro, Blackburn, and Easton. MBOSC performed the trail design, and along with its eager volunteer network, put shovels to the ground for the actual trail construction. Fundraisers like the Ante Up for Trails campaign made this project possible.

The Ibis Ripmo would make a fine choice for the winner.

MBOSC was founded in 1997 to support, preserve, and expand trail access and responsible mountain biking in Santa Cruz County and has since become a highly skilled trail stewardship organization with expertise in advocacy, trail and bike park design, construction and maintenance, and project funding. They are driven by passionate volunteers and high-caliber professional staff who promote legal and sustainable mountain bike access through trail building, hosting races and events, and collaborating throughout the county.

MBOSC has proven to be an invaluable partner for local land managers, investing nearly $1,000,000, over 10,000 hours of staff time, and over 20,000 hours of volunteer time (a $550,000 value) in trail construction and maintenance since 2012. They are focused on furthering their mission to make Santa Cruz the best place to be a mountain biker.

The Ante Up for Trails campaign is open until 11:59pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018! Click here to donate now!
