This coming weekend marks the first round of the Enduro World Series for 2016. We received this nice video update from the Juliana SRAM Pro Team, featuring highlights from their 2015 season – check it out! Sarah Leishman
Sarah’s revved up and ready to get this season under way after coming back from a November shoulder surgery to repair injuries sustained in the ’15 season. “I’ve been putting major time in on my bikes at home in the Sea To Sky Corridor of BC and in California, where I’ve been crushing base miles on the road to rebuild some strength and endurance before the series begins. It’s gonna be one heck of a big year this season!” Sarah will be racing every round of the season on her Roubion and feeding us all the news from circuit.

Any special bike set-up?
“Reverb set right up against my grip so I can reach. Levers close to the bars for my freakishly small hands. SRAM Quarq power meter 32 ring when I train – I take it off to race. Prototype Juliana saddle.”
What event are you looking forward to most?
“ALL OF THEM! Doing the full tour will be a big challenge and I’m stoked to get the opportunity to get to try my hardest around the world all summer!”
Anka Martin
“My season began with the Rally of Aysén Patagonia in January and rolled almost straight into the Santa Cruz Andes Pacifico in February” Unfortunately, a crash there led to a broken metacarpal in Anka’s right hand, where she underwent surgery in Chile the very next day. But, that didn’t stop her from riding the Tour of Aotearoa, a 3000km brevet in New Zealand, 10 days later! “I will miss the first two Enduro World Series rounds in order to continue rebuilding strength in my hand.
But once that’s done, you’ll see me back out and at it again at select rounds of the EWS and the Trans-Provence.”

Any special bike set up?
“I don’t have any crazy bike set ups really, I do like a specific tune on my rear shock, and two tokens in my RockShox Lyrik fork, but for the most part I just throw some lube on the chain, and get out there on the trails.”
What event are you looking forward to most?
“I can’t wait for the Trans-Provence – my highlight for sure.”
Kelli Emmett
When it comes to racing and training, it’s fair to say Kelli knows a thing or two, and thankfully she’s not afraid to share it! Her blog pieces on strength and interval training have proved really popular amongst our female following. In fact, Kelli pushes a little too hard sometimes and found herself nursing a triple-fractured collarbone after a training ride last September! “Now I’m back to full strength, and I will be adding more US-based enduro and endurance races into my schedule this year, including events such as the Sea Otter Classic, BC Bike Race, Trans Cascadia, and a couple of the Big Mountain Enduros. All while still competing in select rounds of the EWS!”

Any special bike set-up?
“I’m riding a new Reverb from RockShox that I love! It has 6 inches of travel, which gives me plenty of room to get back on steep descents. Braking power helps my confidence a ton, so I take the extra weight and use 200 mm rotors in the front and rear. My Pike fork is set up soft at 45 psi with 2 tokens.”
What event are you looking forward to most?
“The Whistler EWS Round – There’s an amazing excitement that the Crankworx festival brings, and fans are lined up in the woods cheering and going nuts! I love racing in that type of atmosphere because it gets me pumped to do my best!”
