Is this the new 2017 Specialized Enduro?
Specialized was one of the last major players to release 650B models and until recently, they never fully embraced the wheel size. One prime example is the Enduro, this 160mm travel frame was one of the most beloved in the category, but the original 650B model utilized a front triangle developed for 26″ wheels, paired with a revised rear end and shock yoke. This gave them the correct bottom bracket and angles, while allowing the frame to accommodate the larger wheel size.
It’s been two years since that design debuted and the brand has since released a number of new models that have been redesigned from the ground up for the wheel size. These frames have also included a number of industry firsts, such as a one sided carbon yoke as seen on the Demo, and an integrated storage compartment.
Will these innovations make it to the next generation of the new Enduro? We can only speculate, but one media outlet has gone so far as to create a mockup. They believe the new Enduro will borrow heavily from the downhill rig that Aaron Gwin piloted to the overall title at the World Cup last season and take further design cues from the new Stumpjumper.
