Feature: 2015 DTS Enduro Race
The Dirty Sanchez is a throwback enduro race held in a private ranch and put together by friends and family to celebrate what is good about mountain biking. Rad trail, great beer, music, rc cars, off-roading, and great camaraderie guaranteed a good time. But this year looked to be a little different. The greatest Enduro racer in the world, Jerome Clementz was attending and flanked by powerhouses Marco Osborne, Ben Cruz and Jeff Kendall-Weed to name a few.
In addition, media was invited, as this event was the continuation of a WTB product launch called WTB Throwdown, which launched a bevy of new tires and rims from WTB. Images, movies and stories are sure to follow suit from this event.
Ron Sanchez and Mark Weir
This event is made possible by the efforts and generosity of a certain Ron Sanchez. He is a man who owns property in the Sierra Foothills and he has embraced mountain biking. He’s built up the trails in his land, and only asks that riders remain respectful and that they help in maintaining the network.
Mark Weir plays a special role too, as he is the magnet that has attracted sponsors and talent to this event. Mark has been the king of enduro racing in the US and he’s been down and out with personal injury and tragedy. But through all these life experiences, he’s remained as the voice and the beacon of what’s great about mountain biking. Through the years, Mark has gained the respect, admiration and friendship of many and he’s attracted talent and attention to Dirty Sanchez.
