Fatback Corvus FLT fat bike lighter and stiffer
Alaska-based fat bike maker Fatback has released the new Corvus FLT, which is claimed to be 250g lighter and 15% stiffer at the bottom bracket and head tube compared to the current Corvus. However, the new Corvus did not lose weight at the expense of function. It still boasts a threaded bottom bracket, three bottle cage mounts, rack mounts, and “anything” cage mounts on the fork.
Fatback continues to prefer the 26” wheel size, but the bike can accommodate everything from 26×4.0 to 26×5.0, as well as 27.5×4.0, 27.5 plus, and even 29 plus.
The Corvus FLT will be available starting in mid-October, and will come in black on black and red on black frame colors. Complete bikes will start at $3699 and top out at $6175 with the carbon wheel upgrade option. There will be five build kit options, including SRAM GX1, X01 and GX1 Eagle, and Shimano SLX and XT. All bikes come stock with Fatback hubs laced to DT Swiss rims, and a carbon fork with anything cage mounts. Possible upgrades include carbon wheels and suspension forks, including offerings from Lauf.
