For many, the Sea Otter Classic is about watching Danny MacAskill perform – and hopefully getting the chance to meet the YouTube star. Mtbr was lucky enough to do both and gained insight on what makes him the perfect ambassador for our sport. Not only can he perform (even while recovering from a broken kneecap), his sincerity and fun-loving nature are infectious, too.
As MacAskill moved from one interview appointment to another, he was stopped by kids and older fans alike. And he always took a moment to acknowledge them and take a photo.
That’s why Magura USA sponsors MacAskill and funds his presence at Sea Otter. They even moved their booth from the main drag to the pit area so they could be close to the MacAskill stage.

Danny’s enthusiasm for biking and life in general is infectious.
At one point the podium organizer of Sea Otter complained that the MacAskill crowd was too loud during awards ceremonies, which is exactly why Magura president Jeff Enlow knows he has to bring Danny back next year.
