The Lab: Roeckl Sports Malix Gloves Review

In the “The Lab” we present the latest products and put them through their paces for you. Some undergo long-term tests, while we check others out only briefly. This time we reveal how Roeckl Sports Malix Gloves fared.

Of course, you have more feeling without, but for Manne, bike gloves are essential. Manne won’t get on his bike without wearing gloves and a helmet, and he hasn’t for years. Anyone whose had to remove small stones out of the palm of their hand after a crash knows how unpleasant it is and appreciates the safety benefits that gloves provide.

A high quality, clean processed glove with many smart features
The Roeckl Sports Malix is very durable and lasts longer than one season

The brand Roeckl Sports, more or less unknown among trail and enduro riders, has specialised exclusively in gloves for six generations and this focus can be seen immediately when you look at the Malix enduro glove. Okay, the design and colour scheme is a matter of taste, but the Malix is a very high-quality, nicely finished glove with many features, and it fits perfectly.
The outer hand is protected by a robust yet elastic material, while the palm is covered with a synthetic material reminiscent of suede, as well as silicone strips to provide grip on the handlebars. Silicone strips are also applied to the fingertips of the index finger, middle finger and thumb to improve grip on the gear and brake levers. Even after almost daily use and at least 25 machine washes, the silicone strips still show no signs of detaching. We like!

We also liked the touchscreen compatible inserts on the small and ring finger to operate your smartphone and the soft material on the thumb to wipe away sweat. The pre-curved fingers of Roeckl Sports’ Malix facilitate a firm grip on the handlebars, and the padding in the palm area is beneficial on long descents.

Conclusion

In our opinion, the Roeckl Sports Malix Enduro glove deserves to be a lot more well-known. It is a robust glove with a clever mix of materials and good workmanship.
