The Lab: Remap MTB Leopard Bib Shorts Long Term Review

Our global test team has been pushing products to the very limit on the world’s toughest trails. In The Lab, durability is rewarded and weaknesses have nowhere to hide. Jim has probably put in a thousand kilometers wearing the Remap MTB Leopard Bib Shorts, who are based out in The Channel Islands.

They are specially designed as more of an under-short than just an XC or road lycra item. With the under-short design, the bottom seam sits higher up the leg in order to avoid contact with any knee pads, eliminating any chance of chafing around the top of the knees.

One oughta like the Leopard Design or use it as an under-short

All the edges of the shoulder straps are bonded in a soft rubber to give grip and extra comfort. The designs are pretty wild, but as they are worn as an under-short, that’s more a laughing point between mates pre- or post-rides whilst getting changed! They are unisex, but as the material above the crotch is nice and stretchy, it makes for an easy wee for the guys – no need to do the dodgy lean-over pee required by the thicker material of other bib shorts!

Comfort is great with the 10mm thick chamois pad, although the material took a while to relax and was a bit tight at first. As for wear, there are a few lighter marks from the odd crash but the Remap MTB Leopard Bib Shorts are standing up quite well to the abuse of crashing so far.
