Tested: MarshGuard mini fender with new Stash addon
On these wet autumn days, when trails are covered in mud and temperatures are icy, it’s essential to make your rides as comfortable as possible. Often, small additions can help to improve your fun significantly. The MarshGuard mini fender is just one of these small additions – we tried it for you!
The MarshGuard is a lightweight (33 grams), flexible plastic shield that can be mounted with cable ties within seconds to almost any fork. Once fixed into place it catches the mud thrown up by the front wheel. Despite its small size, the MarshGuard is amazingly effective: Only in exceptional cases do the dirt splashes reach your face, there’s almost no need for glasses or goggles anymore – a real gain in comfort!
The MarshGuard Stash is an update to the original Marsh Guard and is designed to block the spray that sneaks through the gap between the wheel and fork arch. Also mounted with cable ties, it extends the original MarshGuard to the front.
To be honest: During our first muddy trail rides with the Stash addon mounted, we didn’t realize much difference compared to the original MarshGuard – the splash protection was sill outstanding. However, when things got really liquid, with deep puddles and rain-soaked asphalt, the addon actually improves the anti-splash performance.
Note: The Stash Addon should be bent downwards in direction of the tire to work properly (different than pictured here).
A set including the original MarshGuard, the stash addon and enough cable ties costs just 15,50 Euro, the MarshGuard on its own is only 10,- Euro. Available via www.marshguard.com – free worldwide shipping!
