Test review: Five Ten – Maltese Falcon with S1™ Stealth®-Sole
With concern for our precious limbs we tested the Malteste Falcon from the house of Five Ten for his suitability. We’ve been testing the Maltese for five weeks now. It is a mix of a classic DH- and XC Shoe, so he can score with his slim design, a tough construction and delicate details.
The legendary S1 Stealth®-Sole is designed to work with click-pedals (by mounting cleats) as well as flat-pedals. We used the Maltese Falcon with both options and were completely convinced. Due to the noble cleavage you find the right click intuitive and never have the feeling that you have to walk like a penguin.
Because the good padding you can ride longer tours without pressing and pinching. An increased use of material on the heel and toe protects your feet from unwanted enemy contacts with sticks and stones. Also the additionally attached buckle ensures a higher foothold. Only the higher weight towards his XC-competitors could be understood as an negative aspect.
All in all, the Maltese Falcon is the perfect all-purpose weapon for the daily use.
