Team Tested: Polaris Vapour All Weather Jacket.

We’ve had one of these jackets over the back end of the UK winter and into the chilly spring, which has been put to good use out on the trail. This Polaris Vapour jacket was requested, as it claims not to be waterproof, or as I tend to call it a ‘sweat in a bag’ top! The fit of this comfortable lightweight, water resistant jacket really does feel second to none, with a real snug body hugging shape.

Out of all the water resistant jackets I’ve used over the years, this has to be the most breathable, being usable in most occasions except for a warm day, when you will just end up too hot, as you would in anything other than a riding T-shirt. The inner micro-fleece lining is fantastic at keeping in that much needed body heat on the colder days and keeping the sweat off as it wicks off the body, the damp from sweat will easily dry out with the highly moisture repellent outer rip-stop layer.

This little all weather gem from Polaris also comes equipped with side vents, which kind of double up as large hand warmer pockets plus a rear pocket with a sensible side entry zip. Sleeves end in a wrist hugging elastic, to keep that chilly air out, plus the shaped lower part of the jacket has a hidden elasticated draw string to keep air and the elements from traveling up from the base.

This definitely gets the thumbs up from us as a great cold weather riding or just very comfortable casual jacket, an essential piece of kit for any self respecting MTB rider.
