Best of Test 2014 | The Bike Highlights of the year
Now, as we reach the end of the year, it’s time to look back. Throughout the year ENDURO brought you the most important bike reviews; testing each one thoroughly on tough trails, or against its peers in one of our group tests. It is now time for a quick summary of the bests bikes and highlights from the 2014 season. You can find all the full reviews in our magazine back issues, which you can read for free with our apps!
Back Issue | Bike Test: Zumbi F-11 Custom
The Number of the Beast
Sometimes it’s cool to do things differently, to be unique and to find your own style. When it comes to buying a new bike, we devour the magazines, digesting all the latest tech and innovation. Manufacturers dominate our biking culture, telling us what we need, what is cool and what will work for us. New models scream for our attention in a market saturated with amazing technology and positive reviews, and no matter what bike we chose, in a year we will be lusting after something else. But there is another choice: we could rebel against mass-market conformity, take a risk, and build something really unique, a real one-off.
The Review | The Classy X-Fusion Revel HLR Fork in Short Test
”Wow what a beauty!” our Canadian intern Tyler lets slip as he holds the golden X-Fusion Revel HLR for the first time. And the rest of the team are equally excited about the exceptional looking forks. So they were bolted straight onto our test bikes and given a thorough thrashing on the most varied trails over the last few weeks. Whether on the fast Latsch (South Tyrol) trails, the Alpine paths around Garmisch-Partenkirchen or the flowing Stuttgart hometrails, the Revel had to prove itself everywhere.
Back Issue | Group Test: 6 Enduro Race Tires
“You have to finish first to finish first,“ said Jared Graves once when he was asked about his tactics for an Enduro World Series race. Crashes and defective equipment are anathema to those competing for podium places. If a rider crosses the finishing line with head bowed, the first thing people look at is the wheels and tires. If they have no air in them then the stage, and often the entire race, is ruined. Tires have to cope with a lot of abuse, and not only in races. Grip, and above all puncture resistance, can make the difference between victory and defeat.
The Review | Camelbak K.U.D.U 12 Pack with Back Protector
