Pro Bike Check: Katy Winton’s Bergamont Trailster EX 9.0

22 year old Scottish racer Katy Winton stands at 5’2” and a half, which she happily informs us is half an inch taller than a hobbit, but there is nothing diminutive about her performance. Switching from XC when enduro gained momentum in 2012, she worked tirelessly to improve; changing up her training and learning from each round – and is now a force to be reckoned with on the international circuit.

Her dedication is clear, as is her impressive results sheet, finishing 10th overall in the 2014 Enduro World Series rankings and more recently racing to 9th place in the opening round in New Zealand.

Katy now rides for the Endura Bergamont Factory Enduro team on her 140 mm Bergamont Trailster EX 9.0. The Trailster is a new bike on the scene, but Katy is loving it “It’s a lot longer at the front and it really suits my riding style. The balance of the bike is good helping with timing, and there is great stand over allowing me to be much more dynamic on the bike.” Katy is a local crowd favourite and will be sure to be cheered right to the finish when she races the Tweed Valley EWS.
