Pro Bike Check: Jordan Baumann’s Commencal Meta SX Team
Some bikes are just difficult to overlook. The Commencal Meta SX of Jordan Baumann, with its bright-pink team colors certainly stands out. The 26″bike will be Jordans companion for many races in and around France this season. We took a look on his setup.
The base for this build is a Commencal Meta SX Team frame in size M – the bright pink finish is for team riders only at the moment, but word on the street is that Commencal will offer it for everyone very soon.
With its 65 degree head-angle and a steep 73 seat angle, not only are the looks aggressive but also the geometry, it is certainly race ready. The total weight of the bike with dual-ply-tires is 14 kilograms.
All cables are routed internally, creating a clean looking bike.
The linkage-driven single pivot rear offers 160mm of travel, managed by Maguras TSR eLECT rear shock with electronic control.
The suspension is very special, in both the rear shock and the fork, a set of acceleration sensors sense the riding situation and adjust the suspension configuration automatically. In addition, a Freefall-Detection-System provides a smooth landing after jumps and drops, opening the compression mid-air. The suspension still can be set manually via a wireless remote on the handlebar.
