Pro Bike Check: Jared Graves’ Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 29
Jared Graves finished the 2017 Enduro World Series in 18th overall, and a fiftieth place finish at the Bluegrass Finalenduro. But he didn’t tackle the Ligurian coast trails on a Specialized Enduro, showing up on the beach of Finale Ligure with a Stumpjumper FSR 29 for the bike check instead.
Since 2017, Specialized has been relying on suspension from the Swedish company Öhlins for its race bikes. Jared Graves’ Specialized Stumpjumper too is blessed with Scandinavian know-how. Which shocks he’s got installed exactly and what else his bike is equipped with, you’ll find out here.
The basis of the EWS race bike is a Specialized Stumpjumper frame in size LGetting far behind the saddle, Jared rips up the trail …… and retains control of his bike via a Renthal Fatbar and MAGURA MT5 brake levers. Unfortunately, Jared’s shifter broke during racing. In this case, Jared’s EWS bike rolls on prototype Specialized Butcher tires, testing new rubber compounds or carcasses.
Jared also resorts to in-house products for the saddle. The Specialized ARC saddle must be the least conspicuous component on the Specialized Stumpjumper. It is mounted on a BikeYoke REVIVE dropper seatpost.
