Crashes, injuries and first aid – Tell us about your experiences

It’s almost a cliché that every mountain biker eventually ends up in hospital. Unfortunately, it’s not that far off reality as crashing is a part of our sport. We want to hear about your experiences. What was your worst injury? And how well are you prepared for the worst case scenario?

This is not the first time that we’re dealing with crashes at ENDURO. It’s simply a part of mountain biking and affects beginners and pros alike. However, that should definitely not stop you from getting on your mountain bike! You can minimise the risk of injury by wearing suitable protectors and also learn the right technique when falling.

We want to take a closer look at the topic and, together with our new editor Peter, who happens to be a trained paramedic, provide valuable tips for everyday life on the trail. Of course, we hope that you always get off lightly, but almost every mountain biker has a story or two to tell about crashes they’ve had. We want to hear those stories! Have you ever seriously injured yourself? Have you ever ended up in the hospital or have you had to call an ambulance? How well prepared are you for worst case scenarios?

Take part in our survey, tell us your stories and help us gather crucial information for our upcoming crash guide. Feel free to send us your x-rays, photos, MRI scans or other evidence of battle scars!*

*Of course, we’ll only publish submissions with your consent and we’ll keep you anonymous.
