Ruben Ruzafa second in XTERRA France
After winning the XTERRA European Tour season-opener, the XTERRA Spain Championship in Cieza, Spain, the Castelli equipped Ruben Ruzafa took second place in the XTERRA France Championship on Sunday after Frenchman Nicolas Lebrun.
A fairly large field of about 800 athletes came to the start of this popular and difficult XTERRA race that took place in sunny and dry conditions, but on trails that were rather soft from rain earlier in the week.
For Ruzafa, a successful pro mountain biker who collected four national titles in cross country and marathon for Spain, it marks his full-time venture into triathlon almost five years after winning the 2008 XTERRA World Championship in Maui.
