Watch ‘No Siesta’ on Grandes Jorasses Go Down
Many classic routes ascend the north face of this iconic Alps mountain. But perhaps none present as much danger and difficulty as No Siesta.
Tom Livingstone and Christophe Dumarest had never climbed together.
So Dumarest believed they would start with something simple to get to know each other — but Livingstone had other plans.
The Wales-based climber felt motivated to try something “a bit ambitious.” Apparently, that meant tackling one of the most demanding mixed routes in the Alps: No Siesta, established in 1986 by Jan Porvaznik and Stan Glejdura.
Dumarest, however, was more than prepared for the climb. He had already climbed 11 other routes on the Grandes Jorasses’s north face.
The climbing is technical and bold. Check it out.
