Review: Olight’s ‘AirPod-Style’ Baton 3 Flashlight Launches With Flash Sale

The Olight Baton 3 is a tiny, remarkably powerful flashlight that nests in a charging case about the size of a hockey puck. And it hits the market today at a sale price for just one day.

The Olight Baton is a great little flashlight. We’ve used multiple versions of this design for about a year and love the inches-long form and simple user interface. Plus, the fact that a flashlight the size of your pinky finger can blast an insane 1,200 lumens to 166 m is just wild.

The only real downside to the small light is its somewhat limited battery life — it’ll run on high (300 lumens) for about 95 minutes or low (12 lumens) for 33 hours. Those are very reasonable numbers for a tiny EDC light.

But if you use it for a long time on a trip, you could run out of juice.

Fortunately, Olight has a solution to that. You can now get the Olight Baton 3 with a tailor-made portable wireless charger that bears an uncanny resemblance to the form and function of Apple AirPods.

Olight Baton 3 Premium Edition With Wireless Charger: First Look

Olight sent us an early-edition charger and light to test out. It’s super intuitive to use. Just charge the charging case and flashlight together by plugging in the case with the light inside.

Once it’s all charged up, the indicator light turns green. Take out the flashlight and use it as normal. When it dies, stick it back in the case for a couple of hours until the light turns green again.

Repeat for up to three full recharges and a little bit extra (the case can carry enough juice for 3.7 recharges).

The Olight Baton 3 Premium Edition lives up to the flashlight’s excellent reputation. It’s small and light but still feels tough and durable in the hand. The user interface is a single button on the side, which easily scrolls through power modes with single presses or through a press-and-hold.

For those looking for a small flashlight that you can recharge nearly four times in the field through an included charger, this is a slick system. And given that the charging case doesn’t add that much to the cost of the flashlight, it’s almost a no-brainer.

Check it out here. Act fast for a discount (35% off its $130 retail price), which runs until midnight Friday, March 19. Several other Olight products are also on a flash sale through Friday. Check them all out here.
