Explore the Origins of UTMB: The ‘Pinnacle’ of Trail Running Races

The latest video from shoe company HOKA makes no secret of its appreciation for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB). Learn how this famous route was born.

The UTMB is “widely regarded as the pinnacle trail running race in the world,” this new video from HOKA says. The shoe company has produced a short documentary exploring the origins of the 106-mile race through the Alps.

With an elevation gain of more than 32,800 feet, the UTMB traverses France, Italy, and Switzerland. Learn how this now-famous trail’s authors — Michel and Catherine Poletti — created it.
