The Cycling Fans Guide to World Tour Team Kits in 2019
January is an exciting time for pro-cycling fans to finally see the World Tour teams’ kits and equipments for the upcoming season.
There are teams that changed names due to new sponsors, new kit design, new bikes and new equipments.
So let’s have a look at the team kits for the 2019 World Tour Teams.
AG2R La Mondiale

The 2019 kit remains pretty much the same as the 2018 edition. Brown and blue continue to be the dominant colors with a white block in the middle for the main sponsor, AG2R La Mondiale.
The bike sponsor has changed from Factor bikes to Eddy Merckx for 2019 to 2020. The team will be riding the flagship Eddy Merckx 525 model equipped with Campagnolo EPS electronic groupset, Rotor crankset and Mavic wheelset.

Astana Pro Team

Astana Pro Team’s kit remains the same for 2019. In fact, everything else remains, including the bike frame sponsor, wheelset, kit, bike helmet and sunglasses.

Team Bahrain Merida’s kit remains very similar to the 2018 version. The red jersey and dark navy blue bib remain a mainstay with a slight tweak; a vertical dark navy blue strip on the right side of the jersey.
Components wise, it’s again similar to 2018 with the Merida Reacto frame, Shimano Di2 groupset, Fulcrum wheels, FSA/Vision components and SRM powermeter and crankset.

Bora-Hansgrohe

Triple world champion Peter Sagan’s team kit remains similar to the 2018 version with shades of green on the jersey and black bibs. For 2019, Sagan will be wearing the Slovakian road champion jersey after spending 3 seasons in the World Champion jersey.
Specialized continues to be the bike and wheelset sponsor under the Roval brand. They will be riding the all-rounder Tarmac SL6 frame on mountain stages and the Venge V3 on sprint stages.

CCC Team

Formerly known as BMC Racing, the team is now renamed to CCC, after the Poland-based shoe retailer steps up as the main sponsor.
With the change in team name, the kit has undergone major changes in terms of design and sponsor. Gone are the red and black Assos kit, replaced by an orange kit sponsored by Etxeondo, a Basquq-based cycling clothing manufacturer.
The team now rides Giant bikes with Giant wheelset, replacing the previous BMC bikes. They will ride the Giant TCR Advanced 0 for mountain stags and the Propel for sprint stages.

The team with the most wins in 2018 has a new main sponsor in 2019. Deceuninck, a Belgian designer and producer of PVC systems for windows and doors steps in to be the main sponsor with Quick-Step becoming the secondary sponsor.
The kit remains largely the same as 2018 with just a change in the sponsors name across the middle.

For 2019, Team Dimension Data has a new bike and kit sponsor. BMC replaces Cervelo as bike sponsor, Assos replaces Oakley kits and Giro replaces Oakley as the helmet sponsor.
The lime green and white remains a mainstay in the kit with white being more prominent in 2019. Gone are the lime green helmet and replaced with a pure white.
The team will ride the BMC Team Machine SLR01 for mountain stages and aero Time Machine 01 with integrated bottle cages for sprint stages.

The last of the World Tour team kits to be announced. The EF-Cannondale kit will make it first appearance at the Tour Down Under. This is arguably the best looking kit in the World Tour this year.
The pink to navy blue fade makes the team stands out in the peloton. With Rapha back in the World Tour after a 2 yea hiatus, you can be sure they’re made of the best materials.
The team will continue to ride the Cannondale Super Six Evo and the new aerobike, the System Six, with the bike colors matching the team kit; ararity from Cannondale who’s famous for their green bikes.

Groupama-FDJ kit for 2019 remains the same as the previous years with Italian clothing manufacturer, Ale remaining on board. There are 2 national road champions in the team in the form of Anthony Roux (France) and Antoine Duchesne (Canada). Both their kits will not have any sponsor logo on it, making it look really sleek.
The team will continue riding Lapierre bikes with Shimano electronic groupset, wheelset and components.

Team Katusha-Alpecin’s team kit remains red and white but with a slight twist. The dominant color of the jersey is now a very light shade of grey with a splash of red color across the chest for the sponsor’s name.
For 2019, the team has committed to race in Canyon disc bikes with a choice of either the Ultimate CF SLX for mountain stages or Aero CF SLX for flat stages. Zipp and SRAM continue to be the wheelset and groupset supplier.

Ridley continues to provide the bike frame with the Noah Fast for sprint stages and Helium for mountain stages. Campagnolo supplies the EPS electronic groupset and Bora Ultra wheelsets, SRM for power meters and Deda for components.

Team Sky opts for a dark kit for 2019 with a navy blue top fading to black at the bottom. Castelli remains the kit sponsor for the third year in a row, supplying their top of the line Free Aero range of jersey and bibs.
Pinarello is now in its ninth year supplying the bike frame with the Pinarello F10 while Shimano supplies the Di2 electronic shifting and wheelsets.

Team Sunweb undergone a major change for 2019 with a new bike sponsor and kit design. Cervelo replaces Giant as the bike sponsor with Shimano supplying the Di2 groupset, wheelsets and components.

Trek-Segafredo has new kit design for 2019 while retaining the same red tone. Instead of an all-red jersey in 2018, the 2019 jersey is made up of red/white in the middle with black sleeves. For training, the team will wear a fluro-yellow kit for improved visibility on the road.
The main changes in 2019 for the team is switch over to the SRAM Red eTap groupset from Shimano. As with previous years, the team will ride Bontrager’s wheelsets.

For 2019, Team UAE-Emirates opts for an all-white top with the UAE flag across the chest, below the main sponsors. The new design tweak is aimed to provide the main sponsors with more increased visibility with a white background.
Equipment wise, pretty much everything remains the same from 2018. Colnago supplies bike frame, and Campagnolo supplies the EPS groupset and Bora Ultra groupset giving the bike set up an Italian flavor.
