[Video] Gwin Tips – Cornering With Your Eyes
This is one of the most common mistakes that I see on trail and something I’ve had to work on a lot throughout my career. Learning to use your eyes when cornering will greatly increase your exit speed and overall momentum while riding. It’s natural for this to feel a little weird and scary at first but you’ll get better with practice. Be patient and build up slow.
Tip: It’s easy to forget this technique when you’re riding as looking too close in front of you is often a habit that has become so second nature that it’s hard to even remember that you’re doing it. For a constant reminder you can simply put a piece of tape on your handlebars and write “eyes up” on it. That has helped me to remember when I’m wanting to work on this consistently.
See ya in the next one!
