State sintonizzati!

In close cooperation with Bikepark Idarkopf, Audi Nines MTB 2018have transformed a stone quarry in the Rheinland-Pfalz region of Germany, near the town of Birkenfeld, into a mountain biker’s paradise. In this unusual setting at Bikeregion Hunsrück-Hochwald, a crack teamof top bikers has assembled to test their mettle on a course that features intertwining slopestyle and freeride mountain bike lines, a big-air venue and several special features that set this event apart from others. Sam Reynolds and Clemens Kaudela have spent the past month in the quarry building the course, so there’s no one better to follow into the Freeride line, which leads off with a raw 6-meter drop before launching into a floaty 18-meter hip jump. Meanwhile, Sam Pilgrim shows off the Slopestyle line, including the intimidating Skydrop and creative Satellite Dish features, then drops into the Big Air venue, designed to help riders push their tricks to the next level.

Stay tuned, as there’s still plenty more to come as top riders such as Nicholi Rogatkin (USA), Emil Johansson (SWE) and Brendan Fairclough (GBR) as well as local stars such as Amir Kabbani (GER) and Patrick Schweika (GER) spend the next week exploring the possibilities of this multifaceted venue. Until Thursday, riders have time to land their best tricks and runs in front ofrunning cameras. The resulting video footage will be judged in the categories of Best Slope Bike Line, Best Freeride Bike Line, Best Slope Bike Trick, Best Freeride Bike Trick, and Ruler of the Week, with all categories judged by the riders themselves. More highlight clips are coming soon—until then, keep track of all the action asit happens on the athletes’ social media accounts. Just search for #AudiNines to find the latest content straight from the quarry.
