Trailhunter Ep. 2: Swiss National Park
Livigno is called “the small Italian Tibet”, because of its height of 1816 M. and of its cold climate. It’s quite common to experience snowfall even during the summer months, on the mountains facing the village. So did we on August 16th, 2014, when we rode a very spectacular and long mountain bike tour, crossing the Italian-Swiss border twice and riding the one and only Swiss National Park.
The ride is quite hard, especially the steep climb to Chaschauna Pass. If you want to get the KOM, beware, the fastest guy right now is Christoph Sauser (29 min). Actually it’s already a challenge not to put a foot down.
The trails are easy, never really exposed, and the scenery is majestic. If you are good in shape, this is a ride you won’t forget easily.

At the pass it was really cold. Really.

“Stop if your stomach hurts!”. Too late.
