[Tested] N8tive Multi Tool Maxi With 19 Functions
[ad3]
N8tive are relatively new to the mountain bike component market. However, they have spent many years in the motocross market. Using that experience they have hit the ground running and recently sent us a range of products to test over the coming weeks. We’ll start with their multitool.
Low profile and tough in design. We liked the satin finished tool.
The first thing that caught our eye with their 19 function multi-tool is its compact, sleek, yet robust design. We have been putting it through its paces as we spend more time on the trails in the summer and more frequently have needs for doing more on trail adjustments when riding recently.

Up Close
The 19 function tool has all the most important tools occupying a very thin light weight package. Including a chain breaker and pad spreader plus all bike relevant Torx keys. It also fits into a trail pocket easily.
One of the features we really liked of the N8tive multi-tool was the fact it has all its allen keys in a straight line. This means no more searching around the tool for the right size key. It is easy at first glance to differentiate the size of the key and grab it first time.
The other side of the tool contains all its screw driver based tools plus a spoke key and bottle opener. Again no more searching for the correct size tool. It is an interesting paradigm – N8tive is one of the only multi-tool companies that we have tried recently that order their stock layout this way. N8tive have found a way to make all the tool options fit comfortably and be quick to find.
Easy to find right size allen bolts.
The keys were robust and did not wear easily despite being put under lots of load.
The chain breaker was easy to use and packs away securely on the tool, there are also 4 spoke key sizes and the all important bottle opener!
Conclusion
The N8tive multifunction tool is a well priced high quality German designed tool that fitted our needs perfectly out on the trails. The sensible layout made this our favourite go to tool for our day pack. The tool was durable and gave us solid purchase on the more stubborn bolts we had to undo on our bike. At only 130 grams it’s light and can easily be put in a short pocket if you don’t like to ride with a pack.
