Apparel, Indy, race face, Reviews -

Race Face sent out some of their apparel and protective wear for review this Fall. Amongst some of those goods were a pair of their Indy pants and Indy long sleeve jersey. While I’ve ridden a handful of Race Face’s components over the years, I haven’t donned any of their garb until now. Either way, I’ve been wearing this combo quite often in these cooler months and wanted to report back on how it has been treating me… Indy Pant Details Black, Charcoal, Clay (tested) Nylon / spandex fabric blend DWR water resistant coating Zipper fly Ratchet closure Vented thigh/knee

elevensix, Push, Rear Shocks, Reviews, Suspension -

A few months ago I started testing the latest version of the Push Elevensix rear shock on a bike that I’ve had for some time – the Specialized Stumjumper EVO. Overall, I’m a huge fan of the bike…its geometry, features and adjustability are all incredible, but if it did have an Achilles heel or two, it would be that the suspension kinematics could stand to be improved and it is a bit rough on rear shocks. For one, the shock isn’t as isolated from side to side forces as it would be on say a four bar or a six

I am 179cm tall and I find myself straddling the M and L. In this case the 460mm reach was sufficient for a nice central position which, assisted by a saddle angle of 77.1° and a 440mm chain

Race Face Era

Race Face introduced an all new carbon fiber crankset today dubbed the Era, which are aimed at Trail, All Mountain and Enduro. They were also kind enough to send us an early sample a couple of months ago, which we’ve been riding since. While the Eras maintain a similar silhouette to the current Next R crankset, they pick up a stainless steel wear plate as well as some new design elements. Read on for the full scoop… Details Race Face Era 165mm, 170mm and 175mm lengths 176mm Q-factor 52mm Chainline based on a 136mm spindle – can be adjusted to

all mountain, hightower, Reviews, santa cruz -

This Spring, Santa Cruz sent us the new Hightower for testing. Now in its third iteration, the All Mountain bike is the brand’s utilitarian offering – the most “one and done” bike in their lineup. Since there hasn’t exactly been a ton of new developments in that category over the last couple of years, I was very much looking forward to trying it out on my local trails. With new kinematics, internal downtube storage and a slew of other updates the sum of those parts make it a much different machine than the last Hightower, even if it might not
