Scott Presents The Ransom Kids Model
[Press Release] – The all-new Future Pro Ransom’s balanced geometry paired with long-travel, custom-tuned suspension and dropper seatpost, the adjustability to run 24″ or 26″ wheels and tailored components means no rider is too young to show the trail what they’re made of!
Full Discloser: If your kid wasn’t faster than you before, with the all-new Ransom, they will be now.
Geometry
We built the Ransom 400 and 600 with the same aggressive intentions as the “big” Ransom, but for a kid. At the same time, we wanted to support a balanced position with equalized weight over both wheels for a safer ride. For the bike, this means a slack head angle and low BB for stable and confident cornering. The extra low standover height allows kids to put their feet down if needed and a short head tube keeps the handlebar low and weight over their front wheel, giving control over their line.
Made for speed
Just like the “big Ransom”, the Ransom 600 is made for speed. It will smoothly absorb the biggest of jumps and remain perfectly controllable and fun even at the highest speeds. With 140mm of fork travel and 130mm at the rear, no obstacle is insurmountable.
Adjustability
Built for adjustability, both the Ransom 400 and 600 feature the same lightweight alloy frame that can run 24” or 26” wheels thanks to our simple flip-chip system you also find on other SCOTT frames. This allows families to buy a bike that can grow (or shrink for siblings). The alloy frame is lightweight for little riders to maneuver easily yet durable to last the test of time.
Suspension
We built this bike for kids who would be hitting some serious terrain and then pedaling up for more. At the same time, it was central to the development to have a bike that worked well for riders who are light. That’s why we equipped the Ransom 400 and 600 with a 140mm fork and 130mm rear shock, both with custom tuning for kids. This means suspension that works better for a smoother, less exhausting ride.
Dropper seatpost
The Syncros Ducan Dropper 80mm allows kids to get the seat down and out of their way when descending and pop it back up quickly and easily. A special kid’s tunes makes this easy when they’re ready to pedal back up for more.
The cable routing is completely inside the frame.
