Pivot Introduces the all new Firebird
[Press Release] – Tempe, AZ – Pivot’s Firebird has always had a speedy reputation. This newest iteration is a no-holds barred immersion in the pursuit of terminal velocity.
After a long tease, Pivot is finally unveiling its totally redesigned Firebird. The tagline “it’s not as sweet as it looks” is both a riff on the standard lift line comment of “hey, sweet bike,” and a nod to the unapologetically hard-edged intent of the new bike.
Every aspect of Pivot’s longest travel 29er is tailored toward the pursuit of unbridled speed; from its progressive, size specific geometry to the tuned perfection of its dw-link suspension. Whether chasing EWS podium glory or harboring a burning desire to tear down the sky in a supersonic plume of dust, the Firebird is your ticket to pure velocity.
“Everything we did, we did for speed,” says Chris Cocalis, founder and CEO of Pivot. “With developmental input from our Pivot Factory Racing team EWS riders, we built a faster Firebird. We bumped the travel up, increased reach across all sizes, gave it a slacker head angle, steepened the seat angle, incorporated size specific chainstays, made it stiff where it needs to be, and kept the weight down and the climbing manners sharp. This bike is designed to go fast, push new limits and win races.”
Utilizing Pivot’s Hollow Core carbon construction, the Firebird chassis is optimized to deliver precise tracking at warp speeds, with 165mm of legendary dw-link suspension that devours everything in its path while still ensuring responsive manners and astonishing climbing prowess.
Modern, progressive geometry and 29” wheels ensure battleship stability at speed, regardless of terrain, and state-of-the-art ride tuned carbon layups scaling stiffness and keeping weight to a minimum for each size. It looks sweet, but it’s really not.
