Differences Between Santa Cruz Megatower & Specialized Enduro
When we presented the new Specialized Enduro, comments on its resemblance to the Santa Cruz Megatower were abundant.
Santalized / speciacruz
Specialized Megatower Nomad
Santalized Meganomad etc…
In terms of aesthetics it is undeniable that the two bikes are similar, but in practice there are substantial differences: most prominently, the suspension system. Let’s look at the differences and similarities.
Santa Cruz Megatower vs. Specialized Enduro
In practice they are two enduro bikes with a very low center of gravity, thanks to the position of the rear shock and the linkage that drives it. The geometry is modern, based on the “Speed Balanced Geometry ” introduced by Transition a couple of years ago. This means a longer top tube, a more relaxed head angle combined with a short offset fork and a more vertical seat tube angle.
In the Specialized Enduro test it is clear that you can ride well uphill. An affirmation that provokes skeptical reactions from those who have never cycled one of the new enduros: despite their weight, they climb very well. Of course, KOMs are not made uphill, but they can climb much better than the long travel bikes of a few years ago.
As we are also thoroughly testing Megatower, expect a comparison.
Meanwhile tell us which one is your favorite…
