ZOIC’s Prophet shoes and 2016 apparel highlights

ZOIC started making mountain bike apparel over 20 years ago and they have consistently been offering quality clothes at affordable prices. Earlier this year they launched the Prophet, their first foray into the world of MTB specific shoes. At this year’s Sea Otter Classic they had the Prophet on a special event pricing discount as well as a multitude of new and close-out apparel.

ZOIC Prophet – Flat Pedal shoe
The Prophet is a product of a collaboration between ZOIC and Osiris, makers of freeride, BMX and skate style shoes for many years. ZOIC wanted to create a flat pedal shoe that would appeal to the trail/enduro rider and they focused on comfort, control and confidence. The shoe features a lace-up design for that nice, secure feeling. For the tread, ZOIC uses what they call their “HookUp” rubber to keep your feet firmly gripped to the pedals. Inside, the Prophet has a soft EVA insole to mold to the rider’s foot for fit, comfort and cushioning.
On the outside, the Prophet is constructed from flexible (yet durable) easy-care synthetic leather. The toe and heel are reinforced to withstand sustained trail abuse and the tongue and collar are padded to enhance comfort and support. We chatted with ZOIC Owner and CEO, Paul Wyandt who said that the Prophet has been well received by the consumers and they have gained some feedback about ways to improve the shoe as they look forward to expanding their footwear offerings in the future.
The Prophet is available from your local ZOIC dealer or online via their website (which only has limited sizing currently available). The Prophet comes in sizes 7-12 with only one color (black with red) and the full retail price is $85.

ZOIC Men’s 75 Cent jersey and Ether Camo short
When asked for which outfit has been popular with buyers, Wyandt pointed out the Men’s 75 Cent jersey and the Ether Camo short. The 75 Cent jersey is a loose fit polyester jersey with mesh underarm panels for ventilation. It has wicking properties to help pull perspiration from your body and help keep you cool on those hot days. It has contrasting top stitching for a bright look and is also tagless to eliminate any potential itching and irritation.
The 75 Cent jersey comes in three colors (blue, black, grey), four sizes (md, lg, xl, xxl) and has a retail price of $60.
The Ether is ZOIC’s best selling short and it has received many accolades and positive reviews. For this year, the Ether is available in two camo graphics and this short can be used for XC, trail or all-mountain or enduro riders as well. It comes with ZOIC’s interchangeable padded liner. These shorts have a 12″ inseam to fall just at the knees for most riders. The flat front waistband secures with snap and zip fly closure and the elastic back waistband and Velcro side-adjuster tabs help dial in your fit just right.
Both the short and chamois are made mostly from polyester with a blend of spandex for comfort. The short has mesh ventilation panels below the back waistband and down the legs for keeping you cool. It has two front hand pockets, two leg zip pockets and a small rear zip pocket. This short also has a tech pocket for your iPod or cell phone with a headphone cord control grommet and loop.
The Ether Camo short comes in two colors (grey camo, green camo), five sizes (sm, md, lg, xl, xxl) and has a retail price of $90.

ZOIC Women’s Velocity jersey and Navaeh Novelty short
The Women’s Velocity jersey is a simple v-neck tee design with a stretchy feel to it. The “sporty” cap-sleeves and slightly tapered body provide a comfortable fit. The material is a polyester/spandex blend that offers breathability, moisture wicking and stretchy comfort. There is a stash pocket on the right back hip with a headphone cable slit.
The Women’s Velocity jersey comes in three colors (purple, light blue, grey), five sizes (xs, sm, md, lg, xl) and has a retail price of $50.
The Navaeh short has been one of ZOIC’s most popular pieces for women and this year it is available in four new graphics called the “Novelty” series. This is an all mountain performance fit short with lightweight stretch fabric. The 11” inseam is designed to fall at the knee for most riders and it has an elastic and Velcro side-adjuster tabs help you dial in your fit. This short also has a flat front waistband with double snap and zip fly closure.
Features of the Navaeh Velocity include a women’s specific chamois with anatomically contoured cut and comes with the “ZO-Wick” moisture management. The inseam gusset provides a good range of motion to cut down on saddle snagging. The six pockets give you plenty of stash options including locking zippers with logo tabs to stay shut while you ride. Lastly, the legs have a stitchless hem and the short has tagless labels for comfort.
The Women’s Navaeh Novelty short comes in four graphics (angle print (shown), white plaid, greenery print, black print), five sizes (xs, sm, md, lg, xl) and has a retail price of $95.
