Yeti signs Canadian Geoff Kabush
Yeti Cycles has signed accomplished XC racer and all-around talented rider Geoff Kabush to its race roster for 2018. The three-time Canadian Olympian holds 15 national titles in a variety of cycling disciplines and captured a World Cup victory in addition to multiple podium finishes.
Racing mountain bikes since the early 1990s, Kabush decided to go full tilt into the sport after racing as a junior at the 1995 World Championships. He brings a wealth of experience and speed to the Colorado brand.
For the upcoming season, Kabush will continue to focus on endurance, trail, and stage race events including the Epic Off-Road Series and Breck Epic, as well as defending his titles at the BC Bike Race, Trans-Cascadia and Downieville Classic.
Throughout his storied career, Kabush has championed clean sport and launched the “Race Clean, Own Your Victory” initiative with Cycling Canada. Yeti president, Chris Conroy noted Kabush’s success as a racer as well as his ability to serve as an example to others as reasons for signing the rider. “Geoff is a Yeti type of rider,” said Conroy. “He is a prolific racer that gets results, but always has time to sit down and have a meal with his fellow racers. He is a class act in all he does.”
Upon signing, Kabush confessed he is a long-time fan of the brand. “As a kid studying magazines pictures of my idol John Tomac on a Yeti I used to dream of riding one of these bikes,” said Kabush. “As a bike nerd and a former engineering student who appreciates great design, I’m psyched about these bikes and where this brand will take me this year.”
Kabush will kick off the race season at Moab Rocks, defending yet another title, and then head to the Sea Otter Classic in mid-April.
