Video: Trail builders and their trails
Matchstick Productions has been based out of Crested Butte, Colorado, for over two decades, all the while cranking out some of the best action sports edits you’ll ever see. In their latest effort, MSP teamed up with the crew at Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s Evolution Bike Park to hear about the special bond between trail builder and trail. The superb footage was shot using a Dactyl cable cam system and red dragon package to capture the build team working and riding some of their prime new trails.
For the uninitiated, Crested Butte’s bike park has 29 trails that cover 30 miles, ranging from beginner cross-country to expert downhill. Vertical is about 1000 feet per run, and a reasonably competent rider can tackle almost all the terrain on a 150mm to 170mm trail bike. Evolution Bike Park also has a brand new fleet of Scott rental bikes that includes Gambler downhill bikes, Genius LT and Genius LT Plus trail shredders, and women’s specific and kid’s rigs.
