Semenuk won the 2015 Crankworx Joyride, making him the first rider to take the top spot at the Joyride three times.
“The earlier part of the year was tough for me,” he said, following the competition. “To finally get a good run down the hill felt so good after two events where I wasn’t riding my best. But I so badly wanted to put this one together and it kept unfolding the way I was hoping for.”

An unexpected heavy downpour on Saturday, August 15 created unsafe riding conditions, causing the event to be abruptly cancelled until the following morning. While postponing was a disappointment, Semenuk said it actually helped race conditions.

“The course was about the same speed as yesterday, but the wind really mellowed out today making it pretty much perfect,” he said. “It was a little exhausting coming at this on a second day after getting so ready, but it’s turned out really well.”
