Santa Cruz is well known for steep flowy trails, tight turns, sweet loam and a huge diversity of trails. Some trails are fast and loose while others are so tacky it’s like they were built of Velcro and interspersed with big drops, gaps and rooty steeps that would make a seasoned DH racer pucker up. What better place for the Ibis Cycles Enduro Team to test the new long travel 29er codenamed the Ripmo? Earlier this winter, the team came together in Santa Cruz, California to visit Ibis HQ, meet new teammates and throw a leg over the new bike.

It only took a few days of testing for the team came to a unanimous decision. They wanted to race the new bike at the EWS. The results thus far speak volumes. At the season opener, Robin Wallner and Bex Baraona had their best performances to date.

Robin landed his first EWS podium in Chile with a stunning 3rd place finish and carried that momentum into Columbia and finished 6th. The Speedy Swede is currently sitting in 2nd place overall while Bex is holding down 4th overall and the Ibis Team is in first place.
