Short Track drama continued in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic, for round 2 of the UCI XCO Mountain Bike World Cup 2019. Kate Courtney came in as the short-track favorite after winning a tactical battle in Albstadt! It was short-lived as America’s Chloe Woodruff rode away with a sizeable gap to the peloton, claiming pole position after just 3 laps. For the final lap, the 31-year old had an incredible 20-second lead
In the Men’s race, Mathieu van der Poel was yet again the man to beat after taking the first short track win of the season in spectacular style. But Nino Schurter looked determined to reclaim vital world cup points. Mathias Stirneman led after lap 1 with Henrique Avancini and Anton Cooper close behind. But it wasn’t long before Van der Poel made his move.. with 5 laps to go, he held the pole and secured his 2nd win of the season.
