Video: Nico Vink riding Chatel Bike Park and Whistler
What happens when you get a world class motocross rider on a downhill bike? Watch Nico Vink and find out.
In this episode of Tales From The Soil, Nico Vink goes on a journey through the infamous Portes Du Soleil. He and his crew stop off at the new Airline in Les Gets and then head over the border to Switzerland for a session in Morgins. From fast downhill tracks, to smooth bikepark lines and big drops, this edit has it all.
During last summer’s Crankworx, Nico took couple days to film some of his best lines around the Whistler bike park trails. From riding technical trails in the upper part of the mountain to take massive whips on the Crabapple hits jumps, he rode the area with a style and panache that few mortals can equal.

When you ask someone from the MTB world who Nico Vink is, they will all tell you, he always brings out the big hits. If he can get enough speed, he will jump all your big MX jumps on a mountain bike. The calm 7x Belgian downhill champ is always fun to hang around and brings his enthusiasm to the table. Wait…Belgian downhill? Yes and although Belgium is covered with as many big hills as Jamaica is with snow, Vink took the Belgian flag to first place in the Nissan European Cup. Since he was 15, Nico has won several amateur MX races. When he is not training or racing with his MTB team Rose Vaujany, he is riding his dirt bike. From 2012, Nico has become a member of FMX4Ever and is starting to groove the ramps with the rest of the gang.
