For Anka Martin, riding and racing bicycles is more about the places her bike takes her and the people she meets along the way. Winning, not so much. That’s not to say she isn’t an incredibly talented rider. Martin’s palmarès includes victories at the Andes Pacifico, and Trans Provence, as well as a host of other top finishes in races throughout her career. Sharing her passion with other like minded individuals is what Martin enjoys most, and it’s the challenges of mountain biking that helps her get through the mundane aspects of her day-to-day life.
This revealing chat with the Juliana team rider from the Whistler, Canada stop of the Enduro World Series shows that while racing certainly gets the spotlight, it’s everything else that makes it all worth while.
