VEE Tire Crown Gem Junior launched
VEE Tire Co. has announced the release of the Crown Gem Junior, a new tire for the junior category created specifically for children’s riding safety. As part of their new 2018 line, VEE Tire Co. has converted one of their best-selling mountain bike treads, the Crown Gem, to a junior tire. Designed for enduro and all mountain riding, its round profile offers full volume, knob spacing and height for increased traction. Options include 120 TPI or 72 TPI, foldable, dual control compound, and tubeless ready for 24-inch and 20-inch.
“This design is a huge improvement from what we’ve traditionally seen in junior tires,” said Bike Sukanjanapong, VEE Tire Co. brand director. “In terms of spec, weight, durability and traction, it offers better performance and control all around.”
VEE Tire Co. currently creates OEM tires for several top bicycle brands including Commencal, Isla Bikes, Marin and S’cool. The new Crown Gem Junior will likely begin making its debut on their children’s models next year.
“This is the perfect time in the industry to be expanding our children’s lines,” said Bike. “Manufacturers are starting to devote more attention to junior bikes, improving on materials, suspension, wheels, and the drivetrain. The industry is beginning to have a better understanding now of what kids need and want.”
