Plus bike riders have two new tire options that are both affordable and reasonably light. Tire developer VEE Tire Co. has announced the release of Rail Tracker, their newest tire in the plus size category. As part of their new 2017 line, VEE Tire Co. has taken their most popular cross country tread and applied it to a plus size tire, making this is their lightest tire in the category at 800 grams.

The XC-style tread is geared to maintaining speed and traction.

“The Rail Tracker Plus Size tire features our fast rolling Silica Compound for perfect grip on dry trails and gravel,” said Preston Fray, national sales manager for VEE Tire Co. “And with our Synthesis Sidewall, you can run these at a very low air pressure without worrying about damage to the tire.”

The Rail Tracker is available in 27.5×2.8, is tubeless ready, has an 120 TPI count, is folding bead, and sells for $70.

With cyclocross roots, the new T-Fatty is billed as an ideal combination of speed and traction.

VEE also announced the release of the T-Fatty, yet another new tire for the plus size category. With cyclocross roots, this tire is billed as an ideal compromise between speed and traction. The T-Fatty is available in 29×3.0, 27.5×3.0, 27.5×2.8, and 26×3.0. Price is $50 per tire.

“The T-Fatty features a strong center line for fast rolling and excellent braking performance,” said Fray. “Plus, the multi purpose compound and 72TPI construction means constant grip, great mileage, and the ability for heavy duty use in blocked areas.”
